Phoenix, AZ, May 13, 2025
Exceleron, North America’s leading prepay energy technology company, has fully deployed its PayGo prepay and electronic billing solution for Salt River Project (SRP)’s M-Power customers in Arizona. Introduced in 1999 by SRP, M-Power has grown into the largest prepay utility program in North America. SRP selected Exceleron and Landis+Gyr to replace the previous M-Power solution with advanced prepay, digital billing, and payment services as part of a 10-year service agreement.
About 15% of SRP’s residential customers – or more than 154,000 households – who are enrolled in the voluntary M-Power program have historically realized an average of 12% energy savings compared to those on other SRP plans. In 2024 alone, M-Power contributed 40% of the total peak reduction measured across all SRP energy efficiency programs, demonstrating its effectiveness in energy management and cost savings. This was accomplished across multiple customer segments participating in this program. M-Power earns extremely high satisfaction rates, with 93% of customers surveyed preferring prepay over SRP’s other monthly billing plans.
Empowering Customers with Prepay Utility Services
Prepay utility service offers utility consumers greater control over their spending. Exceleron’s platform leverages customer engagement, actionable messaging, and greater visibility to provide numerous opportunities for reducing energy costs.
“The SRP M-Power program continues to be a popular option for many of our customers,” said Glen Traasdahl, SRP Senior Director of Customer Services. “The evolution of M-Power with Exceleron demonstrates our commitment to providing exceptional customer service and the new platform enables us to continue growing our program and enhancing our customers’ experience.”
Jeffrey Weiser, Co-CEO at Exceleron, added, “SRP is consistently ranked highest in its region for customer satisfaction by J.D. Power and the M-Power program is a key contributor to that success. We are excited that SRP has entrusted Exceleron to deliver better affordability, energy efficiency, and customer control through this historically important program.”
